Overview
During my internship with the City of Oroville, I collaborated with the Chinese Temple cultural site to redesign printed materials aimed at improving visitor engagement. The project focused on creating clear, visually compelling layouts that made cultural information more approachable and inviting to a broader audience.

Problem
The existing materials primarily resonated with audiences already familiar with Chinese cultural history, limiting broader visitor engagement. The challenge was to develop a design approach that preserved cultural integrity while making the experience more accessible and inviting to a wider, less familiar audience.
Solution
To solve this, I approached the project by first establishing a clear visual direction through the logo, using a clean, modern type system to set the foundation for the overall design. This system was then applied to the redesign of the brochure, where I improved the legibility of imagery and replaced the original serif typography with a more accessible sans serif approach. The same visual language was carried through to the poster, creating a cohesive and approachable set of materials while maintaining the museum’s cultural identity.
